I’ve heard about love at first sight, but I didn’t know it was really possible until I tried on this white tankini from swimsuit designer by Alanna! OK, maybe I’m being a bit dramatic, but as someone who has tried on many, many swimsuits in her life, I can tell you how hard it is to find one that checks all of my boxes. I don’t think I’m asking too much. I just want a swimsuit that is comfortable, made with high-quality swimsuit fabric, and looks good on a normal person—one who isn’t built like a runway model! It’s also a bonus if the swimsuit is under $100.
The white tankini from by Alanna is all of those things and more! Let’s start with the fabric. It’s not your normal shiny, white swimsuit fabric. The fabric in this white tankini is a bit thicker and has a ribbed texture to it. The swimsuit is fully lined, so you don’t have to worry about it becoming see-through when it gets wet. After all, what good is a swimsuit if you can’t get wet!
Next, let’s talk about the details. The top of this white tankini has a cute peplum in its design that gives the suit some added visual interest. It can also help hide your tummy, if that is a problem area for you. But even if it’s not, the peplum is a fun addition! The adjustable straps have gold detailing that elevates the look of the swimsuit.
The fit of this swimsuit is also amazing! I love how the high-waisted bottoms help hold me in and stay in place—even while swimming or doing other activities. The scoop-neck of the top is very flattering, and with the adjustable straps, you can position the top to hit you right where you want it. The top and bottom of the tankini are sold separately, so you can get the fit that’s just right for you. No more compromising on size if you aren’t “perfectly” proportional on the top and bottom!
I love that by purchasing this white tankini I am supporting a small, woman-owned business, and I hope to try out more swimsuits from the by Alanna website soon! They have so many cute suits, especially if you’re looking for something that’s a little more modest, or if you like to actually do things in a swimsuit, other than just lay by the pool. Their high-waisted bikinis with bandeau-style tops are very cute, as are their one-piece swimsuits. I’m having a hard time deciding which swimsuit to order next, but when I do, I’ll be sure to write a review to let my readers know what I think of that one as well!
